CTEM.org

At SecureCoders, our mission has always been to empower organizations with cutting-edge security solutions that protect their digital landscapes. Today, we’re thrilled to share an exciting development that extends this mission even further: the launch of CTEM.org ( https://ctem.org ).

CTEM.org (Continuous Threat Exposure Management) is a new initiative aimed at setting the standard for how organizations identify, prioritize, and manage security threats. By fostering collaboration between vendors, practitioners, and industry leaders, we’re building a framework that makes security findings more actionable, precise, and universally understood.

Why CTEM.org?

We have been practicing CTEM for years now are through that process we have noticed a clear need for standardization among vendors and practitioners alike.

One of the biggest challenges in cybersecurity is the lack of a unified taxonomy for describing and categorizing security threats. This gap makes it harder for organizations to interpret findings and respond effectively. With CTEM.org, we’re creating a common language for cybersecurity—a national standard—that improves communication and decision-making across the board. Continuous Threat Exposure Management is key to this effort.

Imagine having a clear, standardized way to describe everything from exposed systems to infected devices. This kind of precision enables security teams to:

  • Respond Faster: Understand exactly what’s at risk and how to mitigate it.
  • Collaborate Effectively: Share findings and strategies with clarity.
  • Build Trust: Deliver transparent and actionable reports to stakeholders.

What We’re Building

At CTEM.org, we’re developing a comprehensive framework that includes:

  • Common Identifiers: Easy-to-understand categories for security findings, similar to CWEs for software vulnerabilities used in Continuous Threat Exposure Management.
  • Detailed Subcategories: Precision-level insights tailored to specific scenarios, such as infected corporate devices or cloud systems linked to critical infrastructure.
  • Community Collaboration: A platform for vendors, practitioners, and researchers to contribute to and refine the taxonomy.

Get Involved

We’re inviting the cybersecurity community to join us in this journey. Whether you’re a vendor, practitioner, or just passionate about making security more accessible, there are many ways to contribute:

  • Join Our Working Group: Help shape the Continuous Threat Exposure Management taxonomy and standards.
  • Participate in Conferences: Share your expertise and learn from others.
  • Collaborate on Research: Partner with us to solve complex security challenges.

Why This Matters

Cybersecurity is a team effort. By standardizing how we describe and address threats through Continuous Threat Exposure Management, CTEM.org empowers organizations to better protect themselves and their stakeholders. Together, we can reduce confusion, speed up response times, and create a safer digital world for everyone.

Thank you for your continued support of SecureCoders as we embark on this exciting new chapter. Let’s build a stronger cybersecurity future—together.
